Bernadette Reese To All Instructors
I have always enjoyed tutoring Mathematics. My mother instilled a love of learning when she would conduct homework sessions at home with my brothers and sisters after returning home from work. I have worked with tutorial programs while a student at the University of Virginia and with tutorial programs for middle/high school students in Richmond, VA, Charlottesville, VA and Chesapeake, VA. My joy is seeing the “light bulb” turn on when a student grasps a concept.
I am a recently retired federal government employee. I worked as an Environmental Engineer at the Norfolk Naval Base until December 2023. I am thankful to the Lord for this time to continue to share my gifts with students and to help equip them for the future.
My husband, Thomas, and I have three adult daughters, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Our youngest daughter recently graduated from the University of Virginia School of Architecture and will be working in the Hampton Roads area and coaching volleyball. The older daughters work in banking and with the federal government. Thomas retired in 2017 and keeps busy with home improvement projects and the Good News Club during the school year. I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading and watching old movies. We are members of Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA.
